Overview

Waymo is seeking a Legal Operations Associate to address legal issues surrounding autonomous driving technology. You'll collaborate with various teams to ensure compliance and protect intellectual property. This role requires a strong understanding of legal operations in a tech environment.

Who you are

You have a background in legal operations, ideally with experience in technology or autonomous driving sectors. You understand the complexities of compliance and regulatory frameworks, and you are adept at navigating legal challenges in a fast-paced environment. Your strong communication skills enable you to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, and public policy experts. You are detail-oriented and possess the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that all legal aspects are addressed efficiently. You are proactive in identifying potential legal issues and are skilled at developing strategies to mitigate risks. You thrive in a hybrid work environment, balancing remote work with in-office collaboration.

Desirable

Experience in the autonomous vehicle industry or a related field would be a plus. Familiarity with intellectual property law and corporate transactions is also beneficial. You may have a law degree or relevant certifications that enhance your qualifications for this role.

What you'll do

In this role, you will work closely with Waymo's Legal team to address the legal issues surrounding our autonomous driving technology. You will collaborate with public policy, safety, security, and privacy experts to define transportation policy and advise on regulatory changes that support our mission. Your work will involve developing and protecting our intellectual property portfolio, ensuring compliance with global regulations, and managing corporate and commercial transactions. You will also play a key role in anticipating and mitigating high-profile legal matters, contributing to the overall success of our business lines. Your insights will help drive technology ideation through to scaled commercial deployment, making a significant impact on the future of mobility.

What we offer

Waymo offers a competitive salary range of $120,000—$151,000 USD, along with eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus program and equity incentive plan.
