Overview

Datadog is seeking a Senior Account Executive to target and close new business with large strategic customers. You'll focus on understanding customer pain points in cloud environments and delivering tailored solutions. This role requires 5+ years of closing experience and a proven track record in sales.

Job Description

Who you are

You have over 5 years of closing experience, with a mix of field selling within mid-market and enterprise environments. You are driven and have consistently met or exceeded direct sales goals of $1M+, operating with an average deal size of $100k+. Your ability to prospect and build relationships is second to none, and you have a deep comprehension of customer business needs. You are resourceful when faced with challenges and possess an intuitive sense of the necessary steps to close business and gain customer validation.

What you'll do

In this role, you will prospect into large Fortune 1000 companies while running an efficient sales process. You will maintain, build, and own specific relationship maps for your territory, including existing relationships and aspirational contacts. Your focus will be on uncovering the pain points organizations face as they operate in or migrate to a cloud environment at scale. You will negotiate favorable pricing and business terms with large commercial enterprises by selling value and ROI. Additionally, you will handle existing customer expectations while expanding your reach and depth into your assigned territory, ensuring high forecasting accuracy and consistency.
