Overview

Amazon is hiring a Software Development Engineer to solve real customer problems through innovative technology. You'll work on scalable services impacting millions of customers worldwide. This position requires a passion for creating new products and features.

Job Description

Who you are

You are an entry-level Software Development Engineer eager to tackle real customer problems through innovative technology. You thrive in collaborative team environments and are excited about the opportunity to see your code directly impact millions of customers worldwide. You possess a strong desire to create new products, features, and services while managing ambiguity in a fast-paced environment. You understand the importance of ownership at every level and are ready to take responsibility for the entire lifecycle of your code—from design through deployment and ongoing operations.

Desirable

You have a foundational understanding of scalable services and are keen to learn more about the technologies that drive them. You are curious and think big, always looking for ways to innovate and improve existing processes. You are comfortable working in a dynamic environment where development cycles are measured in weeks, not years, and you are excited about the challenges that come with building solutions for customers in areas without reliable connectivity.

What you'll do

As a Software Development Engineer at Amazon, you will be part of the Amazon Leo team, working on the low Earth orbit satellite network aimed at delivering fast, reliable internet connectivity. You will collaborate with other engineers to design and implement scalable services that solve complex problems. Your work will directly influence the quality of service provided to customers, including households, schools, hospitals, and businesses. You will engage in the full software development lifecycle, ensuring that your code meets the highest quality standards. You will also participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of the team's processes and practices.

You will have the opportunity to work with modern technologies and frameworks, gaining hands-on experience that will enhance your skills and career growth. You will be encouraged to share your ideas and contribute to the team's success, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. Your contributions will help shape the future of connectivity for people and organizations operating in underserved areas.

What we offer

At Amazon, we believe in the importance of employee well-being and offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, financial, and other forms of compensation. You will have access to a range of resources designed to support your professional development and personal growth. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we value diverse perspectives and backgrounds. Join us in our mission to innovate and build on behalf of our customers, making a meaningful impact in the world.
