Job Description

Are you passionate about transforming data into actionable insights and driving value across Amazon's External Fulfillment network? We're seeking a highly skilled, results-driven Business Intelligence Engineer to join our NA External Fulfillment Operations team. In this critical role, you'll develop analytical methods, dashboards, and KPIs to empower leadership with data-driven strategic decisions.
This position is central to our automation key workstream, supporting a core operations team overseeing 30+ sites, with potential expansion to 200+ sites within 1-2 years. You'll play a crucial role in proactively managing risk and effectively communicating with 3P partners using action-based data.
The ideal candidate excels at extracting data, building robust pipelines, identifying patterns, and translating complex information into compelling narratives. You'll need strong analytical skills, high judgment, and a deep understanding of business processes. Most importantly, you'll partner with a wide range of stakeholders to develop centralized data tools that serve diverse team needs, objectives, metrics, and risk profiles.

Key job responsibilities
Analyze and solve intricate business challenges, focusing on root cause identification and forward-looking opportunities.
Design and implement efficient, testable, and maintainable BI solutions resilient to data quality issues.
Leverage Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL, and other technologies to analyze and interpret large-scale datasets.
Develop and optimize data models and ETL pipelines to support business growth.
Create complex, optimized queries and data pipelines to transform raw data into meaningful reports and dashboards.
Collaborate closely with business and operations teams to gather requirements and present insights.
Enable data-driven decision making by aggregating information from multiple sources into actionable formats.
Innovate new metrics and enhance existing ones to support evolving business processes and ensure long-term sustainability.
Effectively communicate complex analyses and insights to stakeholders and business leaders, both verbally and in writing.
Partner across multiple teams to create centralized data tools that address varied objectives and risk profiles.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in supporting Operations through advanced data mining and the creation of impactful front-end products, with a focus on automation and proactive risk management in large-scale, distributed networks
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience analyzing and interpreting data using Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL, or similar technologies.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Quicksight, or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience in data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
- Strong SQL skills for complex data extraction and Python scripting for data processing and modeling.
- Track record of developing and presenting impactful metrics that enhance business performance visibility.- Master's degree in Business Intelligence, Finance, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent quantitative field.
- Experience with advanced forecasting techniques and statistical analysis.
- Proven ability to manage data and analytics projects for large, distributed operations teams.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and experience in cross-functional collaboration.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
