Overview

Microsoft is hiring a Crisis Manager to lead and coordinate responses to critical incidents across Europe and the Middle East. You'll work within the Cloud Operations & Innovation team to ensure operational resilience in datacenters. This role requires strategic foresight and experience in crisis management.

Who you are

As a Crisis Manager, you will have a proven track record in crisis management, demonstrating your ability to lead teams through complex and high-stakes situations. You excel in preparing teams across large enterprises, ensuring they are equipped to handle emergencies effectively. Your strategic foresight allows you to anticipate emerging threats and drive regional impact assessments, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned and informed. You are comfortable engaging with senior executives, guiding them through critical decision-making processes during crises.

You possess strong organizational skills, enabling you to bring clarity and structure to fast-moving and ambiguous situations. Your experience in evaluating the effectiveness of crisis responses through practical drills and real-time incident management is crucial. You understand the importance of operational resilience and are committed to fostering an inclusive work environment that positively impacts company culture.

Desirable

Experience in managing crisis situations within a technology or cloud operations context is highly desirable. Familiarity with incident management frameworks and methodologies will set you apart. You should also have a background in coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure a cohesive response to incidents.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the Crisis Management Team (CMT) in planning for, responding to, and mitigating critical incidents across the EMEA region. You will coordinate complex responses, ensuring that all actions taken are decisive and measurable. Your role will involve horizon scanning to identify potential threats and preparing the team for various scenarios through drills and simulations.

You will facilitate briefings for the CMT, aligning stakeholders to ensure everyone is informed and ready to act. Your ability to communicate effectively will be essential as you engage with senior executives and guide them through the crisis management process. You will also be responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of the crisis response, using insights gained to improve future preparedness.
