SpaceX is hiring a Full Stack Software Engineer for the Starshield project to develop secure and reliable software systems. You'll work with technologies like JavaScript, Python, and AWS in Hawthorne, CA.
You are a Full Stack Software Engineer with a strong foundation in both front-end and back-end technologies. You have experience in developing secure and reliable software systems, and you thrive in collaborative environments where you can contribute fresh ideas. You possess a solid understanding of software life cycles, including development, testing, and operational support, and you are comfortable working with remote sensor payloads and in-space mesh networks.
You have a background in JavaScript and Python, and you are familiar with modern frameworks and tools such as React and Node.js. Your experience with cloud services like AWS allows you to design scalable applications that meet the needs of national security efforts. You are a problem solver who enjoys working on innovative projects and is excited about the potential of technology to impact the future.
Experience with Docker and containerization technologies is a plus, as it enhances your ability to build and deploy applications efficiently. Familiarity with aerospace or defense technologies, while not required, can provide valuable context for your work on the Starshield project. As a Full Stack Software Engineer on the Starshield team, you will be responsible for creating highly reliable software systems that support national security efforts. You will design and implement secure systems that guarantee access to space, focusing on earth observation, communications, and hosted payloads. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop tools that enhance efficiency and effectiveness in software development.
You will engage in the full software development life cycle, from initial design through deployment and operational support. This includes writing clean, maintainable code, conducting thorough testing, and ensuring that the software meets the highest standards of reliability and security. You will also participate in code reviews and contribute to the overall improvement of the team's development processes.
In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers and share your knowledge with the team. You will work closely with other engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions that align with SpaceX's mission.
