Manager, Privacy and Compliance

Who you are

You have a strong background in privacy and compliance, with at least 5 years of experience in managing data protection programs. Your expertise includes a deep understanding of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), and New York SHIELD Act. You are skilled in working cross-functionally with legal, engineering, product, and customer-facing teams to ensure compliance and security in handling customer and partner data. You are detail-oriented and have a proven track record of maintaining compliance in a fast-paced environment. You are passionate about data privacy and understand the importance of transparency and integrity in data handling.

What you'll do

In this role, you will serve as the designated privacy and security officer under GDPR, leading compliance initiatives for CCPA/CPRA, NY SHIELD Act, and other emerging privacy laws. You will own and maintain the company’s Record of Processing Activities (ROPA), ensuring that all data processing activities are documented and compliant with applicable regulations. You will collaborate with various teams to develop and implement privacy policies and procedures, conduct privacy impact assessments, and provide training to employees on data protection practices. You will also monitor compliance with privacy laws and regulations, conducting audits and assessments as necessary to identify areas for improvement. Your role will involve staying updated on changes in privacy legislation and best practices, ensuring that Flexport remains at the forefront of data protection compliance.
