Job Description

Are you interested in solving complex business problems that require building highly distributed and scalable financial systems, using Generative AI (GenAI) and Machine Learning (ML), to support Amazon growth. Are you seeking an environment where you can experiment with latest technologies and drive innovation? If so, Accounting Intelligence - Finance Technology (AIS-FinTech) is for you.

Whether you buy something from amazon.com or watch a show on Amazon Prime, all of these business transactions get converted into multiple financial events. The Accounting Intelligence (AIS) team use these events to produce insights to enhance productivity and reduce time to perform financial close for global Finance and Accounting users. We operate and build automation for five different problem spaces - 1) Document Review solution using GenAI, 2) Anomaly Detection and driver identification using ML, 3) Fixed Asset Classification using ML, 4) Amazon Investment valuation and 5) Reserve such as bad-debt forecasting.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) professional to play a significant role in leading AI/ML program from concept through execution. This TPM will work hand in hand with our engineers to define the architecture across development teams, and with our customers across Accounting, FinOps, Tax and others to define and orchestrate scope, work streams, timing, milestones, and communication plan. TPM will need to dive deep with the development team and challenge the designs as needed. Solutions involve the development of new products and services, and leverage existing products and services in new ways. It is rife with ambiguity, and we are looking for a leader who can embrace the challenge of solving complex technical problems that require consistent iteration and re-prioritization.


Key job responsibilities
As a Sr. TPM, you will have a deep understanding of the intricacies and complexities of the organization wide data architecture, systems and their interconnections. Using this comprehension, you will be responsible to drive AI/ML programs that improve business efficiency. You will set forth best practices in managing the technical programs and own communication for the programs. As a Sr. TPM, you will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance customer and business needs versus technical constraints. You will create processes, mechanisms, and tools that shape the delivery of multiple technical projects across AIS. You will own regular communication to senior management and stakeholders on status, risks and change control. You will own defining, measuring and tracking metrics for project success. You will be resourceful and find creative solutions to complex technical and business challenges- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 3+ years of software development experience
- 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Bachelors Degree- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
