Google is hiring a Software Engineer III for their Cloud Security and Privacy team. You'll work on large-scale systems and contribute to critical projects using programming languages like Java, Python, and C++. This position requires 2 years of software development experience.
You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience and at least 2 years of experience in software development using one or more programming languages such as Ruby, Python, Java, or C++. Your experience includes working with the Linux kernel, and you possess a solid understanding of data structures and algorithms, whether in an academic or industry setting. You are familiar with distributed systems, OS/kernel, network system design, and large-scale storage systems. If you hold a Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field, that is a plus. You are versatile and display leadership qualities, eager to tackle new challenges across the full-stack as the business evolves.
Experience with performance analysis, large-scale systems data analysis, and visualization tools is preferred. You have a knack for debugging and are comfortable working with complex systems. Your background in information retrieval, distributed computing, and security will be beneficial in this role.
As a Software Engineer III at Google, you will work on specific projects that are critical to the company’s needs, with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you grow. You will contribute to the development of next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect and interact with information. Your responsibilities will include ensuring best practices in coding, such as adhering to style guidelines, checking code in for accuracy, testability, and efficiency. Triage product or system issues and debug them by analyzing the sources of issues and their impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
