Google is seeking a Data Center Facilities Technician, Electrical to manage the uptime and maintenance of electrical systems in their data centers. You'll work with electrical distribution systems and troubleshooting equipment. This position requires 5+ years of electrical experience in a technical environment.
You have an Associate's degree, trade school certification, or equivalent practical experience in a related technical field. With at least 5 years of electrical experience in an industrial or commercial environment, you are well-versed in electrical testing equipment and electrical distribution systems. You are capable of participating in material handling tasks, including lifting and moving equipment, and are familiar with OSHA standard safety equipment. Your ability to work non-standard hours and shifts is a testament to your flexibility and commitment to the role.
Your experience includes maintenance of electrical distribution systems in data centers, hospitals, or power plants. You possess knowledge of electrical systems used in data center environments, including feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS/STS units, and PDU/PMM units. You are adept at using meters, devices, sensors, and troubleshooting techniques with standard hand tools and digital metering equipment.
You have strong communication skills, enabling you to effectively interact with contractors performing maintenance or upgrades on data center systems. Your background in operating, monitoring, and supporting physical facilities conditions makes you a valuable asset to any team.
Experience in a technical environment related to electrical systems is preferred, as is familiarity with data center operations. Your knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting methodologies will set you apart as a candidate. You are eager to support the startup, commissioning, and integration of new electrical equipment and systems into the facilities infrastructure.
