AIML - ML Engineer, Responsible AI

Who you are

You have a strong engineering background with experience in writing production-quality code in Python, Swift, or other programming languages. Your expertise lies in generative models, natural language processing, and large language models (LLMs), which you have applied in practical settings. You understand the importance of safety, robustness, and uncertainty in AI models, and you have experience in failure analysis and quality engineering for AI/ML features. You are comfortable working with sensitive content and have a keen interest in assessing the quality and risk of AI applications.

Desirable

Experience with crowd-based environments and human annotation processes is a plus. You are familiar with red teaming methodologies and have a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks in AI systems. Your collaborative spirit allows you to work effectively within a team, contributing to innovative projects that have a meaningful impact.

What you'll do

In this role, you will develop models, tools, metrics, and datasets to assess and evaluate the safety of generative models throughout their deployment lifecycle. You will create methods and tools to interpret and explain failures in language and diffusion models, ensuring that the models are robust and reliable. Your responsibilities will include building and maintaining human annotation and red teaming pipelines to assess the quality and risk of various Apple products. You will prototype, implement, and evaluate new machine learning models and algorithms specifically for red teaming large language models (LLMs). Your work will directly contribute to the development of the next generation of generative AI applications at Apple, impacting the future of the company's products and the broader world.
