Amazon Robotics is seeking a talented and motivated engineer to architect, design, and develop technologies that deliver state of the art motion capabilities across multiple robotic platforms.
As an Engineer on the Motion Planning team, you will be part of a passionate and diverse team of engineers who design scalable, robust, and highly performant motion planning systems across a world-wide fleet of robots. You will have opportunities to partner and work with applied scientists, data scientists, hardware engineers, and cross-functional teams to deliver the next generation of robotic motion to the Amazon portfolio.
Key job responsibilities
- Architect, design, and implement motion planning systems for robotic platforms
- Influence the team's strategy and contribute to long-term vision and roadmap.
- Work with stakeholders across science, and operations teams to iterate on design and implementation.
- Maintain high standards by participating in reviews, designing for fault tolerance and operational excellence, and creating mechanisms for continuous improvement.
- Prototype and test concepts or features, both through simulation and emulators and with live robotic equipment
- Work directly with customers and partners to test prototypes and incorporate feedback
- Lead by mentoring other engineer team members

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
