You have a strong background in mechanical and automation design, with experience in developing systems that meet stringent precision requirements. Your communication skills enable you to collaborate effectively with diverse teams, and your technical leadership experience allows you to guide projects from conception to execution. You understand the importance of balancing engineering trade-offs, such as precision, cost, lead-time, and throughput, in your design work. Your knowledge of materials science, structural and thermal analysis, and manufacturing processes equips you to tackle complex engineering challenges. In this role, you will brainstorm, design, and develop metrology equipment used to calibrate and test Apple's new technology and products. Your work will involve characterizing tool capabilities at sub-micron mechanical tolerances and developing automated mass-production measurement tools. You will collaborate with a team of experienced engineers from various disciplines, including instrumentation and product design, to create state-of-the-art measurement systems. Your responsibilities will include conducting structural and thermal analyses, ensuring that designs meet performance specifications, and iterating on designs based on testing results.
