Amazon is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support and manage AWS's vast network infrastructure. You'll work with AWS, Cisco, and Linux to ensure network stability and scalability. This role requires experience in large-scale network implementation and troubleshooting.
You have extensive experience as a Network Technician, ideally with 5+ years in supporting large-scale, enterprise-class networks. Your background includes hands-on experience with network implementation and troubleshooting, allowing you to effectively manage complex network environments. You thrive in collaborative settings, working closely with both internal teams and external vendors to ensure smooth project execution. Your understanding of best practices in network management and operational procedures is well-established, and you are committed to driving the stability and sustainability of network operations.
You are familiar with AWS infrastructure and have a strong grasp of networking concepts, including capacity management and scaling support. Your technical skills include proficiency in Cisco networking equipment and Linux systems, which you leverage to optimize network performance. You are detail-oriented and have a knack for identifying and resolving issues quickly, ensuring minimal disruption to services. You are also comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, where you can adapt to changing priorities and collaborate with peers effectively.
Experience with automation tools and scripting languages is a plus, as you will be involved in developing innovative ways to automate and scale network operations. Familiarity with cloud technologies and services, particularly within the AWS ecosystem, will enhance your ability to contribute to the team’s goals.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing and supporting AWS's extensive network infrastructure. Your day-to-day tasks will include capacity scaling support across multiple data center locations, ensuring that network resources are effectively allocated and utilized. You will collaborate with Network Scaling Leadership and Technical Program Managers to facilitate project execution and drive improvements in network operations.
You will establish and follow best practices for network management, refining operational procedures to enhance efficiency and reliability. Regular peer and customer interactions will be a key part of your role, allowing you to gather feedback and implement changes that improve service delivery. You will also be involved in troubleshooting network issues, leveraging your technical expertise to resolve problems swiftly and effectively.
