Databricks is hiring a Big Data Manager to lead customer engagements on big data challenges using the Databricks platform. You'll work on data engineering, data science, and cloud technology projects. This role requires 10+ years of experience with Big Data Technologies.
You have over 10 years of experience with Big Data Technologies such as Apache Spark and Kafka, and you have a strong background in cloud platforms like GCP, AWS, and Azure. Your experience includes working in a customer-facing post-sales, technical architecture, or consulting role, where you've successfully managed teams of Data Engineers and Data Architects. You possess a deep understanding of Big Data Architectures and have independently worked on various projects that required integrating with client systems and providing technical guidance.
You have a proven track record of leading teams and projects, with at least 4 years of people management experience. You thrive in environments where you can consult on architecture and design, helping clients implement transformational big data projects. Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders sets you apart, and you are passionate about helping customers maximize the value of their data.
Experience with data lakes and cloud-native technologies is a plus, as is familiarity with industry-leading big data and AI applications. You are comfortable working with engineering teams and customer support to provide product feedback and resolve engagement-specific issues quickly.
As a Big Data Manager in our Professional Services team, you will engage with clients on short to medium-term projects focused on their big data challenges. Your role will involve building reference architectures, creating how-to guides, and developing production-grade MVPs that demonstrate the capabilities of the Databricks platform. You will guide strategic customers through the implementation of big data projects, ensuring they understand and adopt the solutions effectively.
You will collaborate closely with engineering teams to provide feedback on product implementation and support issues, ensuring that customer engagements are successful and that clients receive the highest value from their investments. Your responsibilities will also include training clients on best practices and helping them navigate the complexities of big data technologies.
