SpaceX is hiring an Automation & Controls Specialist to support the development and construction of tooling for Starship. You'll be responsible for installing and commissioning automation assets and improving production systems. This role requires expertise in PLCs and data acquisition systems.
You have a strong background in automation and controls, with hands-on experience in commissioning and integrating physical hardware such as PLCs, data acquisition systems, and sensors. You understand the importance of reliability improvements in production systems and are skilled in interpreting data collected from these systems. Your experience includes working with wire harnesses, PCBs, and custom enclosures, showcasing your ability to manage complex automation projects effectively.

In this role, you will own and execute the installation and commissioning of new automation assets, ensuring they meet the operational requirements of the Starship program. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop tooling that supports the construction of the Starship and Super Heavy Booster.
You will implement long-term reliability improvements to production systems, analyzing data to identify areas for enhancement. You will also provide operational support, reviewing and interpreting data collected from automation systems to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
