Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in ethical hacking, with a focus on privacy and security — your experience includes identifying vulnerabilities and weaknesses in systems to enhance user privacy. You thrive in an adversarial environment, using your offensive security skills to conduct thorough privacy testing across various products and services. Your passion for protecting user data drives you to stay updated on the latest privacy threats and mitigation strategies.

You possess excellent collaboration skills, enabling you to work effectively with engineering and product teams — you understand the importance of driving remediation efforts and ensuring that privacy practices are world-class. Your analytical mindset allows you to assess risks and propose actionable solutions to enhance privacy measures. You are committed to continuous learning and improvement in the field of privacy and security.

Desirable

Experience with privacy regulations and compliance frameworks is a plus — you understand the implications of GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy laws on product development. Familiarity with security tools and methodologies will help you excel in this role, as will any certifications in ethical hacking or security.

What you'll do

As a Privacy Engineer on Meta's Privacy Red Team, you will be responsible for conducting offensive privacy testing to identify weaknesses in our products and services. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive the remediation of identified vulnerabilities, ensuring that user privacy is prioritized in all aspects of product development. You will leverage your ethical hacking skills to simulate real-world attacks and assess the effectiveness of existing privacy measures.

You will also be tasked with developing and implementing privacy testing methodologies that align with industry best practices — your insights will help shape Meta's approach to privacy and security. By staying informed about emerging threats and trends in the privacy landscape, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of our privacy practices.

Your work will have a direct impact on the privacy of over a billion users, making it essential that you approach each task with diligence and a commitment to excellence. You will be part of a dynamic team that values collaboration and innovation, and you will have opportunities to mentor junior team members and share your expertise.

What we offer

At Meta, we are committed to fostering a culture of privacy and security — you will be part of a team that is dedicated to protecting user data and enhancing privacy practices across our platforms. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, along with opportunities for professional growth and development. You will have access to resources and training to help you stay at the forefront of privacy and security trends.

Join us in our mission to lead with world-class privacy practices and make a meaningful impact on the lives of our users. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement — your passion for privacy and security is what matters most.
