Dropbox is hiring an Infrastructure Software Engineer to build and optimize systems that support their flagship products. You'll work with technologies like Linux, Python, Docker, and Kubernetes to ensure scalability and data integrity. This role requires experience in infrastructure engineering and a strong understanding of system architecture.
You have a solid background in infrastructure engineering, with experience in building and optimizing systems that support large-scale applications. Your expertise in Linux and Python allows you to tackle complex challenges effectively, ensuring that systems are robust and scalable. You understand the importance of data integrity and have a proven track record of managing large datasets and concurrent connections.
You are familiar with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes, which you have used to streamline deployment processes and enhance system reliability. Your ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams enables you to drive initiatives that improve interoperability and adaptability across diverse ecosystems. You are comfortable working in ambiguous situations and can define the right solutions for open-ended problems.
Experience with AWS is a plus, as you will be leveraging cloud services to enhance Dropbox's infrastructure capabilities. Familiarity with Semaphores and Mutexes will also be beneficial in managing concurrent processes effectively.
In this role, you will be responsible for building infrastructure capable of managing metadata for hundreds of billions of files and handling hundreds of petabytes of user data. You will lead the expansion of Dropbox's function as a data-fabric, connecting millions of applications, devices, and services globally. Your contributions will directly impact millions of users, as every line of code you write will further our mission to revolutionize the way people work and collaborate.
You will measure and optimize Dropbox's analytics, ensuring that the systems you build are not only efficient but also provide valuable insights into user behavior and system performance. Collaborating closely with engineering and product teams, you will tackle audacious challenges and push the boundaries of what's possible in infrastructure engineering.
