Overview

GoDaddy is seeking a Corporate Counsel - Employment to manage employment matters and provide legal support to People Operations. This role requires experience in employment law and offers a hybrid work arrangement in Gurugram.

Job Description

Who you are

You are an experienced attorney with a strong background in employment law, particularly in the context of international law, with a focus on India. You have a business-oriented mindset and are adept at handling various employment matters, from pre-employment to post-employment issues. Your ability to provide mentorship and guidance on employment risks is a key strength, and you thrive in collaborative environments where you can support People Operations and business teams effectively.

You possess excellent communication skills, allowing you to articulate complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders. Your experience includes managing outside counsel and assisting with employment litigation, ensuring that you are well-versed in the nuances of employment law and its implications for the organization. You are proactive in staying updated on legal developments that may impact employment practices and are committed to fostering a positive workplace culture.

Desirable

Experience in handling internal investigations and employee relations is a plus, as is familiarity with performance management and adverse employment actions. You are comfortable navigating the complexities of payroll and benefits, and your analytical skills enable you to assess legal risks effectively.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead and participate in various People Operations functions, providing legal counsel on employment matters. You will assist the Litigation team with employment-related cases, ensuring that the organization is well-prepared to address any legal challenges that arise. Your responsibilities will include managing relationships with outside counsel and providing strategic advice to business leaders on employment-related initiatives.

You will be involved in internal investigations, guiding teams through the process while ensuring compliance with legal standards. Your role will also encompass mentoring team members on best practices in employment law, helping to cultivate a knowledgeable and compliant workforce. You will work closely with HR and People Operations to develop training programs that address legal requirements and promote a culture of compliance.
