AML Models Specialist

Who you are

You have a solid background in compliance and risk management, particularly in the context of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations. Your experience includes designing and implementing compliance frameworks that effectively mitigate risks associated with financial transactions. You are familiar with key regulations such as the Bank Secrecy Act and the USA PATRIOT Act, and you understand the importance of aligning business practices with these laws.

You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Legal, and Product. Your ability to communicate complex compliance requirements in a clear and concise manner makes you an effective partner in driving compliance initiatives. You are detail-oriented and have a strong analytical mindset, allowing you to assess risks and develop effective controls.

You are proactive in identifying potential compliance issues and are skilled at developing innovative solutions to address them. Your experience includes validating and maintaining automated controls, ensuring they are effective in mitigating AML risks. You are committed to fostering a safe environment for users and protecting platforms from abuse by bad actors.

Desirable

Experience in the FinTech sector or with payments products is a plus. Familiarity with data analysis tools and techniques can enhance your ability to assess compliance risks and develop effective strategies. A background in legal or regulatory affairs related to financial services will also be beneficial.

What you'll do

As an AML Models Specialist at Meta, you will be responsible for driving efforts related to the design, development, validation, and maintenance of automated controls to mitigate AML risks. You will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure that compliance measures are integrated into the development of Meta's Family of Apps and payments products. Your role will involve leveraging Meta's resources to create scalable and effective AML solutions that align with regulatory obligations.

You will collaborate with Engineering teams to design and implement technical solutions that enhance compliance processes. This includes developing models, rules, and triggers that effectively identify and mitigate AML risks. You will also validate these controls to ensure they are functioning as intended and make adjustments as necessary based on regulatory changes or emerging risks.

Your work will involve continuous monitoring of compliance measures and conducting assessments to identify areas for improvement. You will be responsible for maintaining documentation related to AML controls and ensuring that all processes are transparent and auditable. Additionally, you will participate in training and awareness programs to educate stakeholders about AML compliance requirements and best practices.
