SpaceX is hiring a Facilities Technician, Mechanical for the Starlink project to maintain and repair HVAC systems and ensure peak operating conditions. This role requires experience in mechanical systems and HVAC maintenance.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a solid background in mechanical systems and HVAC maintenance, with experience collaborating with engineers and managers to ensure systems operate efficiently. You understand the importance of preventative maintenance and have a keen eye for detail, ensuring that all equipment is in peak operating condition. Your hands-on experience includes maintaining and repairing HVAC support equipment, such as air handlers and cooling towers, and you are skilled in performing ductwork modifications and soldering. You are proactive in developing and updating detailed work instructions to prevent unplanned service interruptions, demonstrating your commitment to operational excellence.

Desirable

Experience with satellite communication systems or broadband technologies is a plus, as is familiarity with the unique challenges of maintaining equipment in a high-tech environment. You are adaptable and ready to tackle new challenges as they arise, contributing to the innovative work at SpaceX.

What you'll do

In this role, you will collaborate closely with engineers and managers to maintain systems that support the Starlink project, ensuring that all mechanical systems are functioning optimally. You will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on HVAC systems, including air handlers, chilled water systems, and cooling towers.
