Mozilla is hiring a Staff Security Engineer to enhance product security and protect user privacy. You'll work on embedding security into Firefox and Mozilla VPN. This role requires expertise in security practices and risk reduction.
You are a seasoned security practitioner with a strong background in application security and risk management. With a focus on user privacy and safety, you have experience in building and hardening products that prioritize security. You understand the importance of embedding security practices into the development lifecycle and have a passion for creating a safer internet for all. You thrive in collaborative environments and are eager to work with cross-functional teams to implement security measures that protect millions of users.
You have a deep understanding of security vulnerabilities and the tools and techniques used to mitigate them. Your experience includes conducting security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability management. You are familiar with security frameworks and best practices, and you stay updated on the latest security trends and threats. You are committed to continuous learning and improvement in the field of security.
Experience with security tools such as Burp Suite, OWASP, and other vulnerability assessment tools is a plus. Familiarity with secure coding practices and knowledge of compliance standards will enhance your candidacy. You may also have experience in threat modeling and incident response, which will be beneficial in this role.
In this role, you will safeguard millions of users by embedding security into Mozilla's products, including Firefox and Mozilla VPN. You will work closely with product teams to identify security risks and implement effective solutions. Your responsibilities will include conducting security reviews, providing guidance on secure coding practices, and collaborating with developers to ensure security is integrated into the development process.
You will also be responsible for monitoring security incidents and responding to vulnerabilities as they arise. This includes analyzing security breaches and developing strategies to prevent future incidents. You will contribute to the creation of security policies and procedures that align with Mozilla's mission to create a safer internet.
Your role will involve educating team members about security best practices and fostering a culture of security awareness within the organization. You will participate in security training sessions and workshops to enhance the team's knowledge and skills in security matters.
