What you'll do

As the Engineering Manager for the Skills and Credentials team, you will lead a group of talented engineers in developing the foundational systems that map and track skills across the learning journey. You will be responsible for setting the technical direction of the team, ensuring that projects align with Coursera's strategic goals. Your role will involve collaborating with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define project scopes and deliverables.

You will oversee the development process, from initial concept through deployment, ensuring that the systems you build are robust, scalable, and user-friendly. Regularly reviewing team performance and providing constructive feedback will be key to your success in this role. You will also be involved in hiring and onboarding new team members, helping to shape the future of the team.

Your leadership will drive the team to innovate and improve existing systems, leveraging data and user feedback to make informed decisions. You will champion best practices in software development and foster a culture of experimentation and learning within your team. By collaborating closely with other departments, you will ensure that the engineering efforts align with Coursera's mission to make education accessible to everyone.
