Job Description

Who you are

You have a BS in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent degree and possess strong engineering fundamentals including solid mechanics, material science, heat transfer, mechanism design, and manufacturing. You are detail-oriented and have a genuine sense of curiosity that drives your innovative design approach. With at least 2 years of mechanical engineering experience or equivalent internship experience, you are familiar with the server mechanical development cycle from prototyping to high-volume manufacturing. You have working knowledge of tolerance analysis, metrology, and mechanical testing methodologies including Instron and strain gauge. You are willing to travel up to 20% in North America and Asia to support factory builds.

What you'll do

As a Product Design Engineer on the Apple Data Center team, you will support the development of systems from chip to server to rack. Your role will involve engineering products from concept to production, focusing on creating the most energy-efficient, cost-effective, and scalable designs possible. You will collaborate with other engineering groups to integrate technology seamlessly into Apple’s next generation of server and storage hardware. Your work will require rapid iteration and open cross-functional feedback to ensure the best outcomes.
