Overview

Google is seeking a Power and Signal Integrity Engineer to design and characterize signal and power integrity for IC designs. You'll work with EDA tools and scripting languages to ensure high production yield and reliability. This role requires 2-5 years of experience in the field.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Material Science, or equivalent practical experience, along with at least 2 years of experience in the signal and power integrity field. Your expertise includes signal and power integrity modeling and simulation for high-speed interfaces such as LPDDR, MIPI, UFS, PCIe, and USB. You are proficient in industry-standard Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools for simulation and layout, including Cadence Sigrity/Allegro, Ansys HFSS/PowerDC/Q3D, Keysight ADS, and Synopsys HSPICE. You are also familiar with scripting languages like Python, Perl, or Tcl for flow automation and data analysis, and you have experience with high-speed testing equipment like VNAs, TDRs, and oscilloscopes for measurement and validation.

Desirable

You have a solid understanding of circuit analysis, electromagnetics, and transmission line theory, which complements your practical experience in the field. Your background allows you to contribute effectively to a team that pushes boundaries in developing custom silicon solutions for Google's direct-to-consumer products.

What you'll do

As a Power and Signal Integrity Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and characterization of signal and power integrity of our IC designs. You will design the external electrical interfaces of the device, focusing on their signal and power integrity and electrical usage perspectives. Your role will involve setting up methodologies, performing simulations, and conducting silicon characterization and correlations to ensure integrity during PCB and package layout. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including ASIC architects, digital and analog designers, physical design/layout engineers, and system engineers, to ensure high production yield and reliability. You will document design specifications, analysis results, and validation reports to ensure compliance with standards and for future reference.

What we offer

At Google, you will be part of a team that is dedicated to innovation and excellence. You will have the opportunity to shape the next generation of hardware experiences that deliver unparalleled performance, efficiency, and integration. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we value diverse perspectives and backgrounds. Join us in our mission to develop products that are loved by millions worldwide.
