Overview

Relativity is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to contribute to the development of their Terran R rocket. You'll work with AutoCAD and SolidWorks to design and innovate in aerospace manufacturing. This role requires a strong background in mechanical engineering.

You have a solid foundation in mechanical engineering principles and practices, with experience in designing and analyzing mechanical systems. Your proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks allows you to create detailed designs and models that meet project specifications. You are comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams, understanding that effective communication is key to successful project outcomes. You thrive in environments where you can take ownership of your work and contribute to innovative solutions in aerospace manufacturing. You are detail-oriented and possess strong problem-solving skills, enabling you to tackle complex engineering challenges. You are eager to learn and adapt, staying current with industry trends and technologies that can enhance your work.

Desirable

Experience with additive manufacturing processes is a plus, as is familiarity with aerospace standards and regulations. A background in propulsion systems or experience working on rocket design projects would be advantageous. You may also have knowledge of materials science, particularly as it relates to aerospace applications.

What you'll do

As a Mechanical Engineer II at Relativity, you will be responsible for designing and developing components for the Terran R rocket. You will collaborate with propulsion, manufacturing, and avionics teams to ensure that your designs integrate seamlessly into the overall vehicle architecture. Your role will involve conducting analyses to validate your designs, including stress and thermal analysis, to ensure they meet performance requirements. You will participate in design reviews, providing insights and feedback to improve product quality and reliability. You will also have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and expertise to help them grow in their roles. Your contributions will directly impact the success of the Terran R program, as you work to meet customer payload delivery needs and advance aerospace technology.
