You'll collaborate with design engineering and supply-chain teams, utilizing skills in Altium Designer and AutoCAD. This role requires experience in manufacturing processes and problem-solving.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in PCBA manufacturing engineering, with experience in driving manufacturing readiness requirements and leading key milestone reviews. Your ability to work collaboratively across design engineering, supply-chain, and quality teams ensures that all stakeholder deliverables are met on time. You are adept at identifying and escalating manufacturing challenges early in product development by enforcing DFM, DFA, and DFS principles. Your investigative skills allow you to analyze failures in production, test, and integration, and you are skilled at identifying and mitigating underlying root causes to prevent reoccurrence.

You possess a solid understanding of manufacturing processes and are familiar with tools such as Altium Designer and AutoCAD. Your experience with embedded systems and Linux environments enhances your ability to contribute effectively to the team. You are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace, bringing your unique perspective to help strengthen the team.

Desirable

Experience with satellite communications or aerospace manufacturing is a plus, as is familiarity with quality assurance processes and standards. You are proactive in seeking solutions and have a track record of improving manufacturing efficiency.

What you'll do

As a PCBA Manufacturing Engineer at Astranis, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful production of advanced satellites. You will define manufacturing readiness requirements and lead key milestone reviews, ensuring that all stakeholder deliverables are complete. Your collaboration with the Design Engineering team will be vital in identifying and escalating manufacturing challenges early in the product development cycle. You will drive the closure of all operational issues during pre-production builds, ensuring that the manufacturing process runs smoothly.

Your responsibilities will include investigating failures in production, test, and integration, and identifying root causes to prevent reoccurrence. You will work closely with manufacturing partners to ensure on-time delivery and adherence to quality standards. Your expertise in DFM, DFA, and DFS principles will guide your efforts in optimizing the manufacturing process and enhancing product quality.

You will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging your analytical skills to identify areas for enhancement in the manufacturing workflow. Your role will involve regular communication with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and address any challenges that arise during production.
