Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with 8 years of experience in software development using languages such as C++, Go, Java, or Python. You possess at least 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role and 2 years in people management, demonstrating your ability to guide teams effectively. Your fluency in Mandarin and English enables you to communicate seamlessly with local clients and regional partners, making you an asset in a diverse work environment.

Your background includes a Master's Degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field, and you have accumulated 10 years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on technical leadership and people management for at least 5 years. You have a proven track record in designing, implementing, and delivering scalable build/test/release infrastructure, showcasing your technical expertise and leadership capabilities.

You are experienced in developing and leading teams focused on networking and distributed systems products. Your ability to manage complexity from physical networks and routers through cloud virtualization is a testament to your comprehensive understanding of the field. You are passionate about building and operating Cloud Interconnect, which is crucial for connecting enterprise customers to Google Cloud Platform at high speeds.

You have a strong foundation in the design and architecture of complex, large-scale distributed systems. Your experience includes writing and reviewing code to solve ambiguous problems while ensuring adherence to best practices in accuracy, testability, and efficiency. You are adept at aligning strategy, processes, and decision-making across multiple teams in various geographic locations, which is essential for delivering time-sensitive programs and meeting future infrastructure needs.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the Hybrid Cloud Connectivity team at Google, focusing on building and operating Cloud Interconnect. You will oversee the virtualization of edge and backbone networks, enabling enterprise customers to connect their on-premises data centers to GCP at speeds of 100 and 10 Gb/s. Your leadership will be pivotal in onboarding large enterprises and ensuring the success of this high-impact project.

You will manage a team of engineers, guiding them in the design and implementation of scalable infrastructure solutions. Your responsibilities will include fostering a collaborative team environment, conducting regular one-on-one meetings to support career development, and ensuring that your team adheres to best practices in software development.
