Job Description

Amazon Robotics is located in the greater Boston area, the epicenter of robotics innovation. Our diverse team of engineers come from all over the world to design, test and build our dynamic fleet of robots and mechatronic systems. We are seeking an experienced Senior Production Planner to optimize production planning, lead strategic initiatives, and partner across the organization to delight our customers.

At the core of the Senior Production Planner role is driving end-to-end planning excellence through the strategic implementation of advanced supply chain planning technology and optimized workflows. This leader serves as a subject matter expert, guiding the technical transition from legacy systems to a modern, integrated planning platform. They will oversee the execution of critical planning processes, including master production scheduling, material requirements planning, capacity planning, and inventory optimization. The Senior Production Planner partners cross-functionally to streamline planning processes, eliminate manual tasks, and enhance planning capabilities to improve customer service, reduce costs, and optimize working capital. They will leverage data, analytics, and automation to generate more realistic and achievable plans that align with the company's strategic objectives.


Key job responsibilities
* Develop the master production schedule aligned with sales forecasts and business objectives
* Utilize demand plans, inventory, lead times, and production capacity to create a feasible master schedule
* Collaborate with manufacturing, procurement, logistics to ensure feasible and executable supply plans
* Collaborate with sales, operations, finance to iteratively refine the MPS based on changes
* Assess the organization's production capacity and resources (labor, equipment, facilities)
* Perform capacity analysis to identify potential bottlenecks and constraints
* Use RCCP to validate master schedule against capacity, flag issues, and make adjustments
* Develop what-if scenarios to evaluate impact of changes on production capacity
* Work with manufacturing to implement capacity-leveling and smooth production workloads
* Identify and resolve supply-demand gaps through scenario planning and supply parameter adjustments
* Communicate supply-related risks, constraints, and mitigation plans to stakeholders
* Leverage planning systems, data, and analytics to generate optimized supply plans
* Monitor supply plan performance against KPIs like schedule adherence, inventory turns, supplier delivery
* Identify opportunities to improve supply planning processes, tools, and data quality
* Work cross-functionally to drive alignment and communicate changes
* Participate in new product introduction projects to incorporate supply planning requirements- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, industrial engineering, operations, or a related technical field
- 6+ years of experience in production planning, supply chain, or a related field
- Deep understanding of advanced planning strategies and replenishment processes
- Excellent problem-solving and process improvement skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical solutions
- Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional projects
- Proficient in supply chain management tools and technologies
- Proficient in SQL and data visualization to drive key insights (Tableau, Power BI)
- Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma process improvement methodologies- Certified Kinaxis Author or Advanced User certification
- APICS CPIM or CSCP certification
- Knowledge of emerging technologies in the supply chain and logistics space (e.g. IoT, machine learning)
- Master's degree in supply chain management, industrial engineering, or a related technical discipline

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $109,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
