Overview

Amazon is hiring an Engineering Technician to maintain and troubleshoot mission-critical technology infrastructure in Sparks, Nevada. You'll work with electrical and mechanical systems to ensure 99.999% uptime for AWS data centers.

Who you are

You are an Engineering Technician with a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical systems, ready to tackle the challenges of maintaining mission-critical technology infrastructure. You have hands-on experience troubleshooting complex equipment and are familiar with systems such as diesel generators, UPSs, and three-phase electrical systems. Your attention to detail ensures that operations run smoothly, contributing to an extraordinary uptime of 99.999%.

You thrive in a collaborative environment, working alongside a diverse team of engineers and specialists. Your problem-solving skills allow you to address issues quickly and effectively, ensuring that the digital world remains operational. You are eager to learn and grow within the field, embracing opportunities to expand your technical expertise.

Desirable

Experience with data center operations or similar environments is a plus. Familiarity with AWS infrastructure services and a passion for technology will set you apart as a candidate. What you'll do

As an Engineering Technician at Amazon, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the heartbeat of our data centers. Your responsibilities will include operating and troubleshooting critical facilities, ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally. You will work with stand-by diesel generators, switch gear, UPSs, PDUs, and various cooling systems, ensuring that our infrastructure remains reliable and efficient.

You will collaborate with a team of software, hardware, and network engineers to support AWS data centers. Your role will involve hands-on work with electrical and mechanical equipment, where you will apply your technical skills to solve problems and maintain high operational standards. You will also participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in the field.
