SpaceX is hiring an Engineering Specialist for their 2nd shift avionics production team. You'll manage equipment, train technicians, and ensure product quality while working with advanced technologies. This role requires experience in embedded systems and process optimization.
You have a strong background in engineering with experience in managing and maintaining complex equipment — your expertise allows you to train technicians effectively and ensure high-quality production standards. You are skilled in designing custom fixtures and optimizing processes for surface mount electronics assemblies, demonstrating your ability to enhance efficiency and yield. Your familiarity with programming and operating automated equipment is essential for executing new product introductions across various work centers. You thrive in fast-paced environments and are adept at troubleshooting complex machines, ensuring that production issues are resolved swiftly while maintaining design integrity.
You possess a solid understanding of process development and validation, particularly in aggressive timelines — your experience allows you to identify continuous improvement opportunities that enhance yield, performance, and cost-effectiveness. You are proactive in defining maintenance schedules and supporting activities that contribute to the overall success of the production team. Your ability to perform design of experiments (DOE) showcases your analytical skills and commitment to optimizing SMT process yield.
Experience with avionics or aerospace production environments is a plus, as is familiarity with industry standards and regulations. A background in training and mentoring technicians will further enhance your candidacy, as will any certifications related to electronics or manufacturing processes.
As an Engineering Specialist at SpaceX, you will play a crucial role in the avionics production team, working on the 2nd shift to ensure that equipment is managed and maintained to the highest standards. You will assist with the initial setup of PCBA lines and handle facility requests, ensuring that all equipment is programmed and operational for production. Your role will involve identifying continuous improvement opportunities that enhance yield, performance, and cost, making you an integral part of the team’s success.
