Vonage is hiring a Platform Engineer to innovate cloud communications for businesses worldwide. You'll design and manage Kubernetes-based platforms and utilize tools like Terraform. This position requires 3+ years of experience in cloud computing and software development.
You have 3+ years of progressive experience in development and design, particularly in cloud computing. Your coding skills are strong in modern languages, ideally Python or Go, and you are familiar with software development lifecycle management. You have a solid understanding of automating Kubernetes infrastructure deployment and management using tools such as Terraform and Crossplane, enabling you to develop self-service platform workflows. Your experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) on public cloud platforms is extensive, allowing you to streamline processes effectively.
You are proactive in seeking out ways to contribute and bring new ideas to the table. You enjoy working with open-source projects and software, often focusing on developing the 'glue' that integrates various systems and enhances their feature sets. You possess a vision for the future of platform engineering and are eager to contribute to the requirements and design of innovative solutions.
As a Platform Engineer at Vonage, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing internal tool sets that our Engineering teams use daily. Your primary focus will be on implementing and managing Cloud Native Kubernetes-based platform ecosystems that host production APIs. You will engage in every aspect of engineering, from software development strategies to development workflows, ensuring high availability and scalability aligned with modern GitOps practices. Your role will involve maintaining and improving the SLA/SLO and cost objectives of the services you manage.
You will actively seek out opportunities to innovate and streamline processes, contributing to the overall efficiency of the engineering teams. Your work will involve extensive collaboration with other engineers, where you will share insights and best practices to enhance the team's capabilities. You will also be expected to bring a sense of vision to the projects you work on, contributing to the requirements and design of new tools and systems.
