Opendoor is seeking a Payroll and Stock Administration Specialist to ensure accurate payroll processing and compliance. You'll work in the Toronto office, focusing on payroll for both US and Canadian employees. This role requires strong attention to detail and experience in payroll administration.
You have a strong background in payroll administration, with experience in processing payroll for both hourly and salaried employees. You understand the complexities of payroll compliance and tax regulations, particularly in the US and Canada. Your attention to detail ensures that payroll discrepancies are resolved efficiently, and you are comfortable auditing employee records to maintain compliance. You thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with other departments to drive process improvements and enhance payroll systems. You are committed to providing excellent customer service to employees, addressing their payroll and equity inquiries with professionalism and care.
In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for both US and Canadian employees on a semi-monthly cycle. You will perform payroll review functions and audit employee records to ensure tax compliance. Your role will involve researching payroll tax requirements as the company expands into new states and setting up withholding and SUI accounts with the appropriate agencies. You will also audit and balance quarter-end and year-end wages, ensuring accuracy before finalizing W2 filings. Collaboration with team members and other departments will be key as you identify and implement process improvements, including testing system enhancements. You will maintain the integrity and confidentiality of Payroll/HR files and documentation, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and best practices.
