**About the Role** **We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Staff Data Scientist to join our Applied AI Team.** In this role, you will work together with the team building our Merchant agent tool. This tool aims to scale easy-to-use, personalized support to our merchants to help them better succeed on our marketplace. **\-\-\-\- What the Candidate Will Do ----** 1. Design, develop and interpret agentic models via analyses and experiments to evaluate their effectiveness. 2. Feed these insights back to shape the technical execution and strategic direction. 3. Develop data-driven insights to identify opportunities to improve the product or build new products. 4. Present findings to various constituents: technical, business and executive audiences. **\-\-\-\- Basic Qualifications ----** 1. Ph.D., M.S., or Bachelors degree in Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, or other quantitative fields. 2. Minimum 5 years of industry experience as a Data Scientist or equivalent. 3. Experience in experimental design and analysis, exploratory data analysis and statistical analysis. 4. Ability to use Python/R to work efficiently at scale with large data sets. 5. Proficiency in SQL. \-\-\-\- Preferred Qualifications ---- 1. Experience managing projects across large, ambiguous scopes and driving initiatives in a fast moving, cross-functional environment. 2. Expertise in synthesizing complex technical analyses into clear insights to influence product direction. 3. Excellent communication skills across technical, non-technical, and executive audiences.
