Job Description

About Skyscanner

Everyone loves travelling, but planning is not without its challenges. That's why we've spent 20 years building tools that turn travel-planning chaos into a breeze. Today, around 100 million travellers count on us every month to skip the whole “47 browser tabs open” phase and find flights, cars, and hotels quickly and easily.

Joining Skyscanner means becoming part of a global brand that's striving to become the planet's go-to travel hack accessible for all.

Our vision? To be the world's number one travel ally. (Ambitious? Yes, but, hey, that's what got us here.)Want to help us build the best travel ads in the world?

Quark is Skyscanner’s front-end–focused ads team, responsible for every ad and sponsorship experience across the product. We solve challenging technical problems to integrate sponsored products into multiple codebases and platforms throughout the company. If you're passionate about building world-class ads at scale and want to join one of the fastest-growing tribes in the business, this is the place for you.

About the role

This role sits within Quark, our Advertising Engineering team, where we build ad experiences that actually make sense for travellers (yes, really). You’ll help shape how sponsored products show up across Skyscanner — making them accessible, relevant, helpful, and beautifully integrated into the journey (no pop-ups shouting “BUY ME” here).

While we’re front-end first, this isn’t a one-lane road. You’ll mainly be crafting polished UI experiences, but you’ll also have the chance to dip into backend components and integrations when the problem calls for it.

What you’ll be doing

  • Building sponsored product experiences across Flights, Car Hire and Hotels that feel helpful, not disruptive

  • Delivering high-quality front-end features that are reliable, performant and a joy to use

  • Iterating quickly and thoughtfully on UI components based on real traveller and partner needs

  • Collaborating across disciplines to improve consistency of ads across Skyscanner surfaces

  • Contributing to backend integrations when needed, because great experiences don’t stop at the UI

  • Raising the bar on quality and accessibility, making sure ads work for everyone, everywhere

  • Helping evolve our sponsored product ecosystem, bringing fresh ideas and pragmatic solutions along the way

About you

  • A pragmatic, proactive engineer who likes getting things shipped (and shipped well)

  • Front-end focused, with solid engineering fundamentals and an eye for detail

  • Curious by nature, always keen to understand the “why” behind the feature

  • User-centric in your thinking, balancing traveller needs with partner and business goals

  • Comfortable in evolving spaces, where not everything is perfectly defined (yet)

  • Eager to grow your front-end technical leadership, influencing how things are built

  • A positive team player, who cares about quality, collaboration and team culture

What its like here

We are the real deal — no corporate gloss, no empty promises. Just a team of genuinely curious, caring humans, building things that help travellers explore the world a little easier.

Skyscanner is made up of brilliant humans from every corner of the world. We believe travel makes the world better - and that the same is true of our diverse teams. We're proud to be an equal opportunities employer and are committed to building an inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive and products that are accessible to all.

Sound like your kind of adventure? Apply now and help us shape the future of travel.

We're committed to ensuring our application and recruitment processes are inclusive and accessible to everyone. If you require any reasonable adjustments or accommodations for interviews, and/or wish to apply under the Disability Confident scheme, please let your recruiter know. If you’d like more information on any of our policies, such as hybrid working or Parental Leave policies (typically we pay a minimum of 24 weeks birth parent/maternity leave globally), our recruitment team can provide more information on these.
