Microsoft is hiring a Security Engineer II to enhance the security of its products and devices. You'll work with C/C++ and Azure to build automation tools for vulnerability detection. This role requires a Master's or Bachelor's degree in a related field and relevant experience in security.
You have a Master's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field, or a Bachelor's Degree with relevant experience. With at least 1 year of experience in security or a related field, you are eager to learn and grow in your role. You possess hands-on experience with native code, particularly in C and C++, and have a solid understanding of operating system security fundamentals. Your computer science skills are strong, and you have a passion for keeping Microsoft customers safe.
You are adept at building security-focused developer-facing tools and have experience in conducting security design reviews and code reviews. You understand the importance of vulnerability research and are committed to meeting the highest security standards. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with teams of security experts to understand their requirements and build tools that streamline or automate common tasks.
Experience with cloud computing platforms, particularly Azure, is a plus. Familiarity with automation and tooling for vulnerability detection will set you apart. You are proactive in improving existing processes and tools to enhance security measures across Microsoft products.
In this role, you will be part of the Microsoft Offensive Research & Security Engineering (MORSE) team, responsible for securing Microsoft's operating systems, including Windows and Azure. You will equip Microsoft developers with powerful, easy-to-use security tools to catch security issues earlier in the development process. Your work will involve improving existing processes and tools to help achieve the goal of ubiquitous fuzzing, which is essential for identifying vulnerabilities at scale.
You will collaborate with teams of security experts to understand their requirements and build tools that streamline or automate common tasks. Your contributions will directly impact the security of products used by over one billion customers worldwide. You will also be involved in vulnerability research on key features of Windows and Azure, ensuring they meet the highest possible security standards.
