This role requires an individual with excellent analytical and statistical skills and deep knowledge of business intelligence solutions. Ideally, a candidate should have the ability to work with new technologies, develop mechanisms/processes, and work with business teams. The successful candidate will have passion for data analytics, be a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, have strong attention to detail, have an ability to work in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment, and have a desire to innovate Amazon’s approaches. Specific responsibilities include:
Key job responsibilities
• Engage with leadership and diversified functional groups to understand the needs and recommend analytics solutions.
• Own the design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable analytics solutions for ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards, etc. to support business needs.
• Build and analyze key metrics to uncover trends and root causes of issues and find opportunities for contentious improvements.
• Conduct deep dive analyses of business problems and data issues and formulate conclusions and recommendations for leadership and technical teams.
A day in the life
As a Sr. Business Analyst, you will work with business leaders to help define the metrics necessary to evaluate program successes and drive improvements. You’ll build dashboards to deliver those metrics on an automated basis to business leaders and will help business leaders answer detailed questions with data.
About the team
The mission of the BI team is to support the analytics of all Solution Engineering programs. Some programs are highly operational – our team’s role in these programs is to answer business questions to drive improvements. Some programs are highly data driven – our team performs the analytics that drive these programs.- 2+ years of Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, power pivots, etc.) and data visualization tools such as Tableau experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience with SQL
- 3+ years of business or financial analysis experience
- Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
- Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders
- Experience with Excel
- Business level Japanese- Business level English
