Job Description

Who you are

You hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, and you have at least 8 years of experience in ASIC or SoC design, including test and custom chip development with Design-for-Test (DFT) implementation. Your experience includes working with vendors and managing development schedules and specifications, showcasing your strong project management skills. A Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science with an emphasis on computer architecture is preferred, as is your familiarity with EDA tools for synthesis, Static Timing Analysis (STA), DFT, and test tool conversion. You have a solid understanding of DFT techniques such as hierarchical DFT, compression, and diagnosis, and you are knowledgeable in display backplane panel technology. Your expertise in hardware description languages, particularly Verilog and SystemVerilog, complements your excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be part of a team that pushes boundaries, developing custom silicon solutions that power the future of Google's direct-to-consumer products. You will contribute to the innovation behind products loved by millions worldwide, shaping the next generation of hardware experiences that deliver unparalleled performance, efficiency, and integration. You will drive validation flow improvements using new tools and scripts to enhance test efficiency and coverage, collaborating closely with the documentation team to validate specifications, margins, and acceptance criteria. Working with verification teams, you will develop test plans and assist in logic debugging, ensuring that all aspects of the silicon meet the highest standards. Additionally, you will play a key role in root-cause analysis of silicon failures, collaborating with design and test engineering teams to identify and resolve issues effectively.

What we offer

At Google, you will be part of a dynamic team that values innovation and collaboration. You will have the opportunity to work on groundbreaking technology that impacts how users interact with digital and physical realms, particularly in applications such as augmented reality and light-field displays. We offer competitive compensation and a supportive work environment that fosters professional growth and development.
