Amazon is seeking an Associate Corporate Counsel to support AWS's public sector sales teams by negotiating and drafting technology licensing agreements. This role requires a Juris Doctor and experience in government contracting.
You are a legal professional with at least 2 years of experience, holding a Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent. You have a solid understanding of government contracting laws and experience in negotiating and drafting technology licensing agreements with government customers. You thrive in ambiguous situations and can make decisions independently while providing sound legal advice. Your ability to collaborate with diverse teams and communicate effectively with business partners is essential to your success in this role.
In this position, you will support the AWS Worldwide Public Sector Legal team by advising on a wide range of procurement and compliance matters. You will negotiate and draft agreements related to technology licensing, ensuring that they meet the needs of public sector customers. Your role will involve working closely with AWS's public sector sales teams, providing legal guidance that aligns with business objectives. You will participate in team-wide meetings and collaborative projects, contributing to departmental goals and fostering a supportive legal environment. You will also have the opportunity to engage with business leadership, gaining visibility into the strategic direction of AWS.
