Overview

Sophos is seeking a Senior Sales Engineer to drive solution strategy and articulate business value in the cybersecurity domain. You'll leverage your expertise in Firewall, MDR, and EDR/XDR to influence executive-level buying decisions. This role requires a strong foundation in cybersecurity and experience in a presales environment.

Who you are

You have a strong background in cybersecurity with at least 5 years of experience in a technical sales or presales role — your expertise includes Firewall, MDR, EDR/XDR, risk management, and incident response. You are adept at articulating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, enabling them to understand the business value of security solutions. Your experience in engaging with executive-level clients allows you to influence buying decisions effectively.

You thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with sales teams and channel partners to drive customer success. Your ability to build relationships and trust with clients is paramount, as you will be the technical leader guiding them through the sales process. You are proactive in identifying customer needs and tailoring solutions that meet those requirements, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.

You possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, allowing you to present technical information clearly and persuasively. You are comfortable conducting product demonstrations and technical presentations, showcasing the capabilities of Sophos' advanced security solutions. Your analytical mindset helps you assess customer environments and recommend appropriate security measures.

Desirable

Experience with AI-optimized security solutions is a plus, as Sophos continues to innovate in this area. Familiarity with the competitive landscape of cybersecurity products will enhance your ability to position Sophos effectively against competitors. A background in working with Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs) will also be beneficial.

What you'll do

As a Senior Sales Engineer at Sophos, you will play a crucial role in the presales process, working alongside the sales team to drive revenue growth across your designated territory. You will lead technical discussions with prospective clients, articulating the value of Sophos' cybersecurity solutions and how they can address specific business challenges. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing tailored solutions that meet customer needs, ensuring a seamless transition from presales to implementation.

You will conduct product demonstrations and technical presentations, showcasing the capabilities of Sophos' solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences. Your ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value will be key in influencing executive-level buying decisions. You will also collaborate with product management and engineering teams to provide feedback on customer requirements and market trends, helping to shape the future of Sophos' offerings.

In addition to driving customer success, you will support the sales team in developing proposals and responding to RFPs. Your technical expertise will be vital in ensuring that proposals accurately reflect the capabilities of Sophos' solutions and address customer requirements effectively. You will also participate in industry events and conferences, representing Sophos and building relationships with potential clients and partners.
