Overview

Google is seeking a Technical Program Manager for their Subsea Build team to lead complex projects in subsea cable installation and marine operations. You'll leverage your technical expertise and project management skills to coordinate cross-functional teams in Dubai.

Job Description

Who you are

You hold a Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Subsea Engineering, Marine/Ocean Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, and have at least 2 years of experience in program or project management. Your background includes practical experience in subsea cable installation and marine operations, which equips you to support decision-making in complex environments. You possess strong organizational skills, enabling you to multitask and prioritize effectively while maintaining excellent attention to detail. Your communication skills are top-notch, allowing you to convey complex information clearly to both technical teams and executive management. You approach problem-solving with a data-driven mindset, ensuring that solutions are comprehensive and effective.

Desirable

Experience in submarine cable project deployment, particularly in areas such as optical DWDM transmission, manufacturing processes, and environmental permitting, is highly valued. Familiarity with telecommunications facility fit-out and co-location agreements will set you apart as a candidate.

What you'll do

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you will lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from inception to completion. You will work closely with stakeholders to plan project requirements, identify potential risks, and manage project schedules. Your role will involve coordinating the readiness of Cable Landing Stations (CLS) and ensuring that all necessary infrastructure is in place for seamless installation. You will develop permit acquisition strategies with vendors, monitor application risks, and implement schedule mitigation plans to keep projects on track. Your ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional partners will be crucial in providing high-level reporting on project status and facilitating knowledge sharing across teams. You will act as a vital link between technical teams and executive management, ensuring that all parties are aligned and informed throughout the project lifecycle.

What we offer

At Google, you will be part of a team that is dedicated to building products that create opportunities for everyone. You will have the chance to work on innovative projects that have a significant impact on global telecommunications infrastructure. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we value diverse perspectives and backgrounds. Join us in shaping the future of subsea cable technology and marine operations.
