Overview

SpaceX is seeking a Senior SOC/ASIC Physical Design Engineer to develop cutting-edge silicon for space and ground infrastructures. You'll work on innovative technologies that enable connectivity globally. This role requires expertise in ASIC and silicon engineering.

Job Description

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in SOC/ASIC physical design engineering, with a strong background in silicon engineering. Your expertise includes working on complex designs and collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver high-quality solutions. You are motivated and proactive, with a passion for developing technologies that push the boundaries of connectivity.

You possess a deep understanding of physical design methodologies and tools, and you have a proven track record of successfully implementing designs that meet stringent performance and reliability requirements. Your ability to analyze and optimize designs for power, performance, and area (PPA) is second nature to you, and you thrive in environments that challenge your technical skills.

You are intellectually curious and enjoy working alongside world-class engineers from various disciplines, including systems, firmware, architecture, and validation. Your collaborative spirit allows you to effectively communicate and share ideas, ensuring that projects progress smoothly and efficiently.

Desirable

Experience with advanced silicon technologies and familiarity with the latest industry trends will set you apart. You have a keen interest in space technologies and a desire to contribute to projects that have a significant global impact.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for developing next-generation silicon for deployment in SpaceX's Starlink project and other innovative technologies. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to define design specifications and ensure that all aspects of the physical design process are executed flawlessly. Your contributions will directly impact the performance and reliability of the systems that enable connectivity in previously underserved areas.

You will engage in detailed design reviews and collaborate with validation teams to ensure that designs meet all necessary requirements. Your role will also involve optimizing designs for manufacturability and working with fabrication partners to ensure successful production runs. You will be expected to stay current with industry advancements and continuously seek ways to improve design processes and methodologies.
