Amazon is seeking an Associate Corporate Counsel for AWS Public Sector to support technology licensing agreements with public sector entities. This role requires 2+ years of legal experience and knowledge of U.S. government procurement processes.
You are a talented public sector lawyer with at least 2 years of legal experience, particularly in transactional and technology licensing law. You hold a Juris Doctor and are a member of a state bar or equivalent. Your background includes substantive knowledge of U.S. government procurement processes and contracting laws, rules, and regulations. You are inquisitive and enthusiastic about technology, enjoying the challenge of working hard and demonstrating sound judgment even in ambiguous situations. You have experience engaging with U.S. government entities and understand the nuances of negotiating and drafting technology licensing agreements.
Experience with complex, high-dollar-value strategic enterprise agreements and responses to requests for proposals and quotes would be beneficial. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are eager to provide ongoing legal counsel and contract interpretation to business team members. Your ability to develop, implement, and manage process improvements across a legal team will set you apart.
In this role, you will support Amazon Web Services (AWS) by negotiating, drafting, and advising on a wide range of technology licensing agreements with public sector entities and private-sector customers. You will work closely with the AWS public sector sales team, ensuring that all agreements align with legal standards and business objectives. Your responsibilities will include providing ongoing legal counsel and contract interpretation to business team members on a day-to-day basis. You will also help develop and implement process improvements across the legal team, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness in handling contracts. Your role will require you to navigate complex legal landscapes and provide strategic advice to support AWS's public sector initiatives. You will be expected to travel, including internationally, to engage with clients and stakeholders as needed.
