Google is seeking a Technical Lead for EMEA GeoExpansion to oversee cloud infrastructure strategy and capacity planning. You'll work with stakeholders to bridge commercial requirements and engineering constraints. This role requires 10 years of experience in technical consultancy or program management.
You have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, along with 10 years of experience in cloud infrastructure strategy, capacity planning, or technical program management. Your background includes acting as a technical advisor or solution engineer for customer deployments, showcasing your ability to operate effectively at both strategic and ground levels. You possess a strong understanding of data center fundamentals, including infrastructure, networking, and hardware dependencies, and how they relate to Cloud product portfolios such as IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS. Your excellent communication skills allow you to distill complex technical concepts into executive-level briefings that facilitate decision-making. You are adept at building consensus across a complex web of stakeholders, often with conflicting priorities, and can successfully advocate for regional commercial needs while respecting global engineering standards and timelines.
You have a track record of managing large capacity escalations and optimizing utilization of data centers. Your experience includes overseeing GPU/TPU allocation and driving compliant regional design to support the central build-out of significant AI capacity. You are comfortable navigating the complexities of regional strategy and collaborating with country leadership on key deals, advising on regional design.
In this role, you will lead the EMEA GeoExpansion efforts for Google Cloud, focusing on cloud infrastructure strategy and capacity planning. You will manage large Classic and AI capacity escalations to safeguard business operations and ensure optimal utilization of data centers across the region. Your responsibilities will include partnering with country leadership on key deals, advising on regional design, and driving compliant region design to support the central build-out of significant AI capacity. You will work closely with stakeholders to translate demand into actionable plans, influencing regional strategy and ensuring alignment with global engineering standards. Your role will require you to advocate for regional commercial needs while addressing technical blockers and product constraints, ensuring that both business and engineering objectives are met.
