Point72 is seeking a Data Scientist to bridge the gap between raw data and predictive modeling. You'll work closely with the quantitative research team, applying advanced techniques to enhance systematic trading strategies. This role requires a strong background in data analysis and programming skills in Python and SQL.
You hold a BS, MS, or PhD in finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, data science, computer science, or another quantitative discipline — your academic background has equipped you with strong analytical and quantitative skills that you apply in real-world scenarios. You have experience programming in Python or a comparable language, along with a working knowledge of SQL, which allows you to manipulate and analyze data effectively. You are detail-oriented and take ownership of your work, demonstrating a strong desire to deliver high-quality results in a timely manner. Your previous experience as a data analyst, data sourcing specialist, or data scientist in a financial firm is a plus, showcasing your ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
In this role, you will conduct thorough data analysis under the mentorship of a senior quantitative researcher, allowing you to grow your skills and knowledge in systematic trading strategies. You will generate novel ideas for enhanced proprietary data products, contributing to the development of innovative solutions that drive the firm's success. Your responsibilities will include tracking and evaluating new offerings from internal and external data vendors in partnership with Compliance, ensuring that all data sources meet the firm's ethical standards. You will transform firm-approved raw datasets into robust features for our systematic models, playing a crucial role in the trading pipeline. Additionally, you will build analytical tools to supplement our shared research framework, enhancing collaboration and efficiency within the team.
