Job Description

Strengthening Culture across Organizations and Teams is a priority across Amazon and the Culture team has a global remit to cultivate and strengthen culture globally in AWS. The Sr. PM joins the Culture team within the T&D AWS organization and will be based in Seattle or HQ2 reporting directly to Alan Frewer (Director, Culture team leader). The responsibilities of this role include:

• Be the primary Culture team partner for business and PXT leaders in the North America and Latin America regions.
• Consulting on current and future organization culture needs, identifying, co-designing and delivering relevant solutions.
• Advocating for culture development among stakeholders, including driving results and operational excellence in partnership with T&D, PXT and business leadership.
• Delivering executive culture solutions for senior leaders across the region.
• Facilitating and delivering culture and development programs as required.
• Being an active member of the program management team to drive the implementation of global and regional leadership development programs
• Partnering with peers on learning experience design and develop creative, learner-centered, performance-based learning materials for multi-modal experiences from initial learning design through to final assets for different channels that cover strategic business initiatives, processes, and product features that address customer needs.
• Facilitate consultation and scoping meetings with business stakeholders, subject-matter-experts and technical project leads.


Key job responsibilities
This role requires strong program execution experience as well as experience in design and facilitation of leadership training and organization effectiveness workshops. There will be the opportunity to own learning solutions from end-to-end, including measuring impact. The person will have a hands-on role managing program details, improving processes and engaging stakeholders, while also learning from customer feedback to improve the learning experience. This person will also collaborate with PXT partners and business leaders to create and execute on a strategy to develop cultural leaders for AWS. In this role the person will have an opportunity to help create, evolve, and grow mechanisms and programs to that address our employees’ development needs at a scale that is unmatched. This role will partner with AWS business leaders, PXT partners, and the broader Amazon Leadership and Talent Development community.

A day in the life
The successful candidate will bring these strengths to life through the role:

• Building relationships - partner with HR Business Partners and central teams. Share best practices, partner on solutions, and move the organizations forward together.
• Consulting - utilize past experience and knowing what is going on across our organization to create custom solutions and localize as needed.
• Judgment - take different perspectives and business needs, develop a solution that works, move the ball forward. Be able to support your opinions with sound reasoning grounded in the business.
• Prioritization - there will be a constant flow of work, both tactical and strategic. Determine what gets done first and why, while managing a plan for what to do with everything else.
• Bias for Action and dealing with ambiguity - sometimes it is not clear how we are going to get there. Can you help carve a path? How fast can you do it? What are the tradeoffs?
• Program management - build plans with clear objectives, milestones, stakeholders, and metrics.
• Innovation - appreciate what exists, identify why it works and see if there is a different way to drive more learning value with a mindset of continuous improvement
• Teaching - you are the expert in this space. Create learning experiences, deliver it, and teach others how to do it.
• Numbers - data. Love them, use them. Be more than comfortable talking about them in a deep and detailed way, able to tell someone what the numbers are actually saying.


About the team
The AWS Culture team owns two primary programs. Firstly, the Amazon Day 1 Culture Program (AD1CP) with the vision to enable leaders to cultivate and evangelize AD1C, strengthening a globally inclusive organizational culture to power the trajectory of the AWS business and positively impact AWS customers and communities. • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• 7+ years progressive in Talent Management or Human Resources
• Strong consulting, facilitation and coaching skills, with ability to influence senior leaders in a global, highly-matrixed environment
• Experience designing, delivering, and measuring leadership/management development solutions
• Demonstrated strengths in problem solving, issue-resolution, attention to detail, and ability to simultaneously manage multiple priorities
• Project/program management skills including planning work, prioritizing and managing details, keeping multiple tasks/projects on track, using time well, and delivering results with tight deadlines
• Analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions
• Experience measuring and reporting on business impact of learning solutions
• International experience designing and delivering learning solutions across multiple countries.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Experience in a high growth business environment with the practical application of leadership development, organization development, and talent management
• Familiar with assessment-for-development tools and processes and use of psychometric instruments
• Leadership coaching experience using 360 instruments and / or a variety of psychometric instruments
• Experience in a high growth business environment with the practical application of leadership development, learning, and talent development.
• Master’s degree or equivalent in relevant field

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $113,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $187,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
