Job Description

Amazon’s Legal Department is looking for an attorney with experience in corporate anti-corruption compliance programs to join its Business Conduct & Ethics team.

Key job responsibilities
The role will support the Business Conduct & Ethics program across all Amazon businesses in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. You will help design, administer, and implement various elements of Amazon’s compliance and ethics program, including anti-corruption risk assessments; advice and guidance to attorneys and business leaders; policies on gifts, conflicts of interest, third party risk, corporate giving, etc.; managing education and communication initiatives; and partnering with BC&E investigations counsel, Internal Audit, HR, and Finance teams. The role reports to the Lead Business Conduct & Ethics Counsel for EMEA.

About the team
Amazon's Business Conduct and Ethics Team is a global department within Amazon's Legal organization that designs and implements Amazon’s anti-corruption compliance program. We own and support Amazon’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, Anti-Bribery Policy, and related policies and mechanisms. Amazon employees rely on us for guidance when navigating complex and ambiguous legal and compliance issues. Our mission is to elevate Amazon’s ethical culture and protect the company from significant fraud and corruption risks.- Qualified lawyer with 2+ years of post-qualification experience, including in compliance;
- Experience with international anti-corruption law e.g. FCPA or UK Bribery Act etc.
- Highest standards of ethics and professional integrity;- Excellent judgment and practical approach to legal advice;
- Project management/ program design and implementation experience;
- Experience with risk assessment and risk management;
- Ability and willingness to travel and work flexible hours.
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, meet deadlines, and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and changing environment;
- Familiarity with retail, cloud, software and/or media industries, and the respective regulatory environment;
- Team player who can build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels throughout the organization;
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
