Job Description

Amazon is seeking a high-judgement, self-motivated communications professional to drive proactive storytelling for key AWS programs and initiatives. In this role, the Comms Specialist will illuminate the positive impact AWS is having locally through the programs we run, the organizations we support, and the people whose lives we’re changing for the better.

The candidate is media-savvy, with excellent reporter connections and a keen sense for what it takes to break through with reporters. This individual will be excited by the idea of building campaigns and big PR moments from ideation to execution. To be successful here, the Communications Specialist will need to think beyond the activities laid out in the roadmap and consider how Comms can work with the business to make those plans bigger, bolder, and higher-impact.

The candidate will be responsible for end-to-end execution by researching, building, and delivering PR campaigns to drive a drumbeat of news, content, and thought leadership. They will be a creative problem-solver who is able to think big picture, a superb writer, and have meticulous attention to detail. This individual will be effective at working in a fast-paced, dynamic organization and have a track record of building trust across teams and generating results.

Key job responsibilities
Drive proactive media coverage related to key programs and initiatives

Manage cross-channel communications campaigns in partnership with internal communications, social media, and the owned content teams

Think creatively to advance big plans and execute day-to-day tasks

Write and execute integrated communications plans to support launches and milestones

Build relationships with key reporters

Earn trust by collaborating with internal stakeholders and external partners to drive successful PR programs

Write messaging, press releases, FAQs, blog posts, and other materials

Serve as a spokesperson for the business- 5+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience
- Bachelor's degree- Excellent written communication skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $68,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $147,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
